Sega Sega

The blue speedster started off on the Sega Genesis in 1991 and had a great start in the industry as a gaming mascot, he was so successful as a character and as a franchise that he almost single-handedly carried Sega to financial success. While Sonic's popularity was undeniable for most of the nineties - the move to 3D gaming and next-gen consoles would basically cripple Sega, evident by the failure of the Dreamcast and the cancellation of any plans to develop further consoles.

Either way, there are countless moments, mistakes and whole games that Sega would rather you forget about.

Unlike the mistakes and blunders in Mario's past, most of these entries come from recent occurrences, as Sega are still desperately trying to repair the reputation of their primary mascot, even now. Here's 10 things Sega would prefer you forgot about Sonic The Hedgehog.
