10 Worst Things Disney Heroes Have Done

Heroes can't be heroes all the time.

Woody Toy Story
Pixar

To think that a Disney character, who is meant to represent all that is pure and sacred for their particularly young audience, could ever do something reprehensible.

However, just like in any good film, a character needs flaws. Any character that is simply too perfect or too likeable is, simply put, boring.

Although Disney has a fairly child-orientated form of storytelling, they have become extremely clever with their plots and character development to allow people of all ages to become immersed in their films.

In this list, I will be exploring the times that our beloved Disney heroes dabbled with the dark side.

Whether it is out of jealousy, selfishness, naivety or as part of a great redemption arc, no one you will find here is perfect.

Characters need drama to advance the plot, and where better for that drama to come from than the central protagonists themselves?

After all, we expect the villain to do bad things, so when the good guys and gals do it it's far more interesting.

Prepare to look back on your childhood heroes without the rose-tinted glasses.

10. Woody Pushes Buzz Out The Window - Toy Story

Woody Toy Story
Pixar

For many years Woody had clearly been Andy's favourite toy. Pretty much all of the other toys look to the sheriff as their unquestioned leader with some even idolising him.

When Andy's birthday rolls around the toy commence a brilliant operation to see if he would be receiving any new toys.

After they were believed to be in the clear, Andy's mother gifts him with an extra surprise present that is revealed to be the fabled space ranger, Buzz Lightyear.

Buzz initially does not realise he is a toy and believes his sentience is due to him being a genuine person.

Due to his fantastic features, including wings and a laser beam, he quickly replaces Woody as Andy's new favourite. Andy plays with Buzz more and more, tossing Woody to the side and using him as a side character in Andy's make-believe scenarios.

Woody is furious at this, gaining a blazing hatred for Buzz.

When Buzz is staring out the window, Woody sees his chance to reclaim his place as Andy's favourite. He lines up RC and tries to push Buzz behind the drawers so that Andy will take Woody on a family outing instead of Buzz, but he accidentally knocks him out of the window instead.

It's a toy-eat-toy world out there.
