10 Most TERRIFYING Stalker Enemies Of All Time

Okay, that's just UNFAIR.

Alien Isolation
Creative Assembly

The gaming world has led many players to believe that an enemy is nothing more than a threat to be taken out. Even the most sweat-inducing boss battles - looking at you, Promised Consort Radahn - can be overcome with enough skill and effort. But, you know what's truly terrifying? A villain you cannot defeat.

Stalker enemies are an emerging branch of gaming antagonists that pose a different challenge than your regular grunts and bosses. They literally hunt the player character with an intent to kill, and take little to no damage no matter what you hit them with. Your best bet is to run, hide, and hope they don't find you.

Naturally, the relentless and unbeatable nature of stalker enemies makes them unabashedly terrifying, leading to many iconic characters making their mark on the industry. The coming ten are the apex of this, as they had gamers panicking left, right, and centre, desperately trying to escape.

NOTE: This list will stick to one entry per franchise. Otherwise, the likes of Resident Evil and Outlast would become this list's very own ever-present stalkers.

10. Daniella - Haunting Ground

Alien Isolation
Capcom

As a spiritual successor to the beloved Clock Tower series (more on that later), Haunting Ground prides itself on tormenting you with creepy-as-hell stalker enemies. It throws many of them at you, but anyone who has played the game knows that one shines above the rest - Belli Castle's infamous maid, Daniella.

Upon first glance, you'd be easily fooled into thinking that Daniella is a regular human being with some ghostly features, but this isn't the case, as she is a Homunculus. She appears human but doesn't come with the ability to experience pleasure, taste, or pain.

How does she deal with this curse? Well, by becoming a deranged psycho hellbent on tearing you apart and using your youth and body parts to become a full human. Yes, she's downright terrifying.

Her appearance isn't too creepy on the surface, with a pretty maid uniform and a large shard of glass as her weapon. But her stoic stillness combined with occasional bouts of manic laughter and convulsions paint a horrifying picture.
