AEW boss Tony Khan told the media during a pre-Double Or Nothing 2025 call that he'd be open to adding Women's Tag-Team Titles to his product at some point in the future.

At time of writing, All Elite currently offers no less than 4 sets of tag belts across both the core AEW brand and ROH - they have the AEW Tag-Team Titles, AEW Trios Titles, ROH Tag-Team Titles and the ROH Trios Titles. There are currently no tag straps for members of the women's division to work towards.

At least for now.

When pressed by members of the media on whether or not he'd eventually add female tag belts to the list of AEW champions, Khan said the following: "That is something I would like to do, and [it] is a goal for me". He then went on to say that "there are some great tag matches in the women’s division".

Typically for Tony, his answer was fairly lengthy and covered multiple other topics before circling back around to the question asked. He wouldn't give a time frame on exactly when AEW fans could expect to see these prospective new belts, but it does sound like they're on Khan's mind heading into Double Or Nothing 2025 weekend.

"There are a lot of great teams in the women’s division. There are a lot of great partnerships and rivalries that would lend themselves to those matches", he added.

Khan Says He's More Interested In Rebuilding Men's Tag Division

One of the more interesting takeaways from Tony's answer is that he feels the men's tag-team division needs some work first. The AEW chief cited injuries as problematic, so he's fully focused on getting as many workers as possible healthy before properly attacking that objective.

However, he seemed happy enough with how things are going in the interim.

The current AEW Tag-Team Champions are Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. Together, they make up The Hurt Syndicate alongside MVP, and they defeated Private Party to win the straps on the 22 January edition of flagship show Dynamite. At DoN 2025, Lashley and Benjamin will defend their belts against Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara (who are also the reigning ROH Tag Champs).

Tony says one of his main goals is making sure All Elite has "the best tag team wrestling in the world". He believes he needs to strive for that on the men's side before adding yet more titles to AEW's bursting trophy cabinets across multiple shows and brands.
