10 More Disturbing Movie Moments You Never Noticed

These moments will creep up on you.

Generally speaking, filmmakers want you to actively notice everything they're doing in the frame, because why even bother otherwise?

But there are certainly exceptions to this, where they hide sneaky gags and references within their film for only the most attentive of audience members to catch.

And while movies with the intent to shock the audience typically aren't subtle about it, sometimes filmmakers want to ensure only the most switched-on of viewers end up being the most disturbed.

And so, as a sequel to our previous article on the very subject, here are 10 more disturbing movie moments you've never noticed.

Aided by some sleuthing from the fine folk at /r/MovieDetails, these creepy, unsettling, and downright weird movie moments will leave hairs standing up on the neck of anyone who catches them.

And yet, each moment is massaged subtly enough into the overall scene that the overwhelming majority of viewers haven't ever noticed them. So if you did, give yourself a pat on the back - you deserve it.

In case you thought these movies weren't odd or unnerving enough, each has at least one eyebrow-raising ace up its sleeve for the eagle-eyed among us to seek out...

10. The Predator's Secret Proposal - Predator 2

The Flash
Fox

Granted, this one's actually kinda cute once you know the inside baseball context, but for any viewers who just randomly stumble upon it during a viewing of the movie itself, it's incredibly disconcerting.

Who knew that Predator 2 was really just a love story after all?

During the sequel's unforgettable slaughterhouse sequence, the Predator's gauntlet malfunctions for a brief moment, and for a few fractions of a second, a hidden message can be seen on said gauntlet - "Marry me," followed by the word "Poynter."

It's pretty much the last thing you'd expect the Predator to say, and it's all the more unnerving that it's displayed in the middle of an ultraviolent action sequence where Peter Keyes (Gary Busey) and his men get thoroughly bodied.

As for the story behind the message? This Easter egg was actually sneaked into Predator 2 by Donald Poynter, an animation artist who worked on the film and included it as a proposal for his then-girlfriend.

Better still, fans managed to get in touch with Poynter back in 2019 to both confirm that his girlfriend said yes, and that they're still married to this very day. D'aww.

Still, if you catch this message within the pure vacuum of the film's story itself, it's hella creepy.
