With fans speculating that 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin could have a role to play at WWE WrestleMania XL next weekend, there's now an update on the Texas Rattlesnake's 'Mania status.

Via PWInsider, WWE has reached out to Austin for him to be involved at this year's Showcase of the Immortals. However, there's no word on whether this would be for the Bionic Redneck to merely make an appearance at WrestleMania XL, or whether WWE would be looking for Stone Cold to do something more physical.

Of course, this comes on the heels of Austin's face being seen on a production truck as The Rock put a beating on Cody Rhodes to end this week's WWE Raw. Not just was the WWE Hall of Famer on that truck, but so too was John Cena, leading to reports that WWE very much does everything by design, which in turn has resulted in rumblings that Austin and Cena could end up playing a part in Cody's ongoing beef with the Bloodline when WrestleMania XL rolls around.

Given how WWE has production trucks with the likes of Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Logan Paul, Jey Uso, Charlotte Flair, and many, many more current superstars adorned across them, for whatever reason, the market leader purposely chose to have the images of Steve Austin and John Cena as the backdrop to Raw's hot closing moments.
