Matt Hardy has called AEW "paramount to the health and success of the pro wrestling industry", but thinks the company has definitely "cooled off".

The ex-All Elite man told fans tuning into his podcast that Tony Khan probably could've done a better job when spacing out debuts for newcomers like Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone too. Hardy wasn't 100% keen on how bunched together those arrivals were, and thinks each could've benefited from a month or so between them.

Matt described it as "a lot going on right now", and reckons AEW should focus on one or two big stories at a time instead of trying to throw everything at the wall to see what might stick. The WWE legend, who has been linked with a return to his old stomping grounds recently, doesn't think AEW is in any real trouble though.

He thinks wrestling fans should be "celebrating that AEW is here", but does believe the past few years have "hurt some of that [early] goodwill" that burst into life as soon as Khan launched the organisation in 2019.
