A new ECW project is in the works from WWE.

No, fear not, it's not a relaunch of the ill-fated WWE ECW...

As per PWInsider, WWE has started early work on an ECW episode of WWE Legends Biography for A&E. The outlet notes how certain talents have been contacted about being interviewed for this Legends episode, although there's no word on which talents that is or when the episode would air. Obviously, it's a little too late in the day for this to air as part of the current season of Legends.

It's been somewhat of a mixed big where WWE's coverage of ECW has been concerned over the years. Of course, one major negative is how WWE handled ECW when it opted to bring the brand back to life in 2006, with ECW quickly losing any sort of identity and instead just being another WWE show. On the other side of that, WWE did produce the stunning Rise and Fall of ECW documentary, put together the fun Authentic Untold Story of ECW for the WWE Network, and those first couple of ECW One Night Stand events were pretty darn special.

In terms of ECW, the long-time brain behind the Land of Extreme, Paul Heyman, is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.
